Driver Licence

To drive for Azure Private Hire, you’ll need a full UK driving licence along with the relevant Private Hire licence with either Newcastle under Lyme council or Stoke-on-Trent City council.

Q: How long does it take to sign up?

A: Our sign-up process is simple and easy requiring filling out one form which just takes 5 minutes. Once signed up and all necessary documents our presented to us there will be a 30-minute induction from one of our staff members.

Q: What do I need to become a driver?

A: You will need to provide us with your driving licence (either your paper licence or photocard licence), your PHV license (both parts), Taxi Insurance Certificate and 2 forms of identification clearly showing your current address. We can provide advice on the PHV license process, please contact driver recruitment on 01782 39 39 39 for more information.

Q: Do I have to work set shifts?

A: With us there is complete flexibility around the work schedule. You choose to work as many hours as suits you however we do encourage drivers to work more hours during busy times.

Q: How do I get paid – Cash Transactions?

A: All cash jobs are paid directly to the driver

Q: How do I get paid – Account Transactions?

A: All Account jobs and Card payment will be paid directly to Azure Private Hire after 7 days of the initial journey. After we have received payment we will immediately transfer the money into the driver’s account.

Q: How much do I pay Azure Private Hire?

A: At Azure Private Hire we have no monthly fees, so you only pay for finished jobs, we only charge 15% of the ride fee. For more information, please contact us.

Q: Will I be self-employed?

A: Yes. All Azure Private Hire drivers are self-employed and responsible for their own tax and national insurance.
